Merritt McDonald

From an early age, Merritt felt a deep connection to horses. Growing up in Mississippi, she immersed herself in the equine world—competing in rodeo circuits, training young colts, and honing her skills with some of the industry's most celebrated bloodlines. Her love for horses shaped not only her career but her approach to life.

At Mississippi State University, she pursued a degree in Production Management of Animal and Dairy Science, blending her love for horses with a keen eye for operations and efficiency. This knowledge soon propelled her into the world of equine reproduction where she fell in love with breeding. This allowed her to fulfill the role as the processing lab manager for one of the most sought-after equine reproduction farms in the country while overseeing 48 of the industry's most high-caliber stallions and handling semen processing/shipments at an international scale.

While enjoying the breeding side of the equine industry, it was clear to her that she wanted to take it a step further with the connections she had made and the clients she had met. Not only did she want to create life, but she wanted to protect it as well- leading her to her next stage in life, equine insurance. As an Equine Insurance Agent, she has worked with high-value clients and their multi-million-dollar horses, ensuring tailored policies that protect their assets and livelihoods. She specializes in guiding clients through the complexities of equine insurance, ensuring they receive tailored coverage that protects their investments from the time the foal is in utero until its geriatric years of life. From first-time horse owners to seasoned professionals in breeding, training, and competition, she helps clients make informed decisions that safeguard their futures.
